Syngenta Host East Midlands Airport Asset Management Team To Discuss Apprenticeships
On December 10th we welcomed a group from East Midlands Airport Asset Management Department to our manufacturing centre in Huddersfield, to share our experience with regards to our apprenticeship programme.
Geoff Moss, Asset Management Director at East Midlands Airport, part of MAG (Manchester Airports Group), approached me early last year to arrange this visit. The purpose of the visit was for us to share our experiences of apprenticeships, how we have designed and manage our programme, how we support and monitor apprentices, the successes that we have had and the hurdles that we have had to overcome. He was also keen to learn how the apprentices have contributed to and benefited our site.
(Geoff was already familiar with our programme as his daughter, Shauna, has recently completed a science based apprenticeship with us and he wanted to share this with his team from East Midlands Airport)
Geoff commented “ It was really fantastic to see the benefits that the investment in apprenticeships has brought to the Huddersfield Manufacturing Centre. My team and I came away with some very positive messages and implementation ideas for the apprentices currently employed at East Midlands Airport.”
A return visit to East Midlands Airport is planned which will give Geoff and his team an opportunity to demonstrate the good work that they are currently doing with their apprenticeship programme and also enable us to build our relationship further and explore further networking opportunities.
